Editorial review policy
This page sets out how we choose which casinos to cover, how we review them and what our editorial comparison scores are based on. The aim is to be useful and honest, not to crown winners.
Which brands we cover
We focus on online casinos that hold a UK Gambling Commission licence and that accept players in Great Britain. We rotate the brands on the homepage from time to time to keep the list manageable; absence from the homepage is not a comment on quality.
How we review
For each brand an editor registers an account, makes a small deposit using a UK payment method, plays a small selection of games across categories, requests a withdrawal and reads the promotion terms in full. We take notes during that walkthrough rather than relying on marketing copy.
We don’t use scripted phrases, we don’t copy bullet lists from operator press kits and we don’t publish reviews for brands we haven’t actually used.
What goes into a score
- Offer clarity — are the key terms (wagering, eligible games, time limits) easy to find and easy to understand?
- Site usability — lobby search, filters, account screens and overall navigation on desktop and mobile.
- Payments — available UK deposit and withdrawal methods, minimums, and the friction of the withdrawal flow.
- Game range — breadth and quality of slots, live dealer studios and table game variants.
- Mobile experience — performance and feature parity in the browser and in any native app.
- Terms transparency — how clearly the operator explains rules, exclusions and KYC requirements.
- Safer gambling visibility — how easy it is to find deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and support links.
How scores are formed
Each criterion is given a short editorial mark out of five. The published score is the rounded average and is meant as a comparison aid, not a verdict. Two casinos with the same score can still suit very different readers depending on which criterion matters most to them.
What scores are not
- They are not awarded by, or endorsed by, the UK Gambling Commission or any other regulator.
- They are not provided by the operators.
- They are not based on verified customer reviews. We do not collect or display fake user counts.
- They are not a prediction of how much you will win or lose. No such prediction is possible.
Corrections
If something on a review is wrong or out of date, please tell us through the contact page. We will look at it, fix what needs fixing and note the change where it’s useful to readers.
